SF State Rebrand (Thesis)
Over the course of a decade San Francisco State University has suffered a decline in enrollment, leading to budget cuts, layoffs, and tuition hikes affecting the quality of education for students. SF State required a refresh to its identity in order to attract students back to the university and to prevent the quality of the educational experience for current and future students from declining further.
Research and interviews of students, professors, and university marketing and branding experts led to a brand focused on “intangible values”, the intimate learning experience, sense of community, diversity, and empowerment of students to turn their passions into their professions.
